Most Social Security business can be conducted online using any computer whether at home or in the Lafayette Public Library. Just click the link below for any of the services listed. A number of services are available at the toll-free telephone number. Live representatives can be reached between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Automated services are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing can call the TTY number 1-800-325-0778. Calling the toll-free number is the most convenient way to schedule either an in-office or telephone appointment to file an application if you choose not to file online.
In Person At a Social Security Office
Although nearly all business can be conducted more conveniently online or by calling 1-800-772-1213,
staff in the local office is available between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Wednesdays (except for Federal holidays).
