Audiobooks

The Lafayette Public Library has a large collection of audiobooks in a variety of formats:  cassette, compact disk, and Playaway,  Tumble Books, an electronic library for children containing audiobooks, and Overdrive, free downloadable audiobooks, available anytime.  For Overdrive you will be asked for your PIN which is the last 4 digits of your phone number.

Borrowing/Renewing Materials

Computers and Internet

Free Wi-Fi is available in all library branches.  You may also reserve one of our public access computers. For further questions, please see the Electronic Resources Policy.

Copy Machines

Copy machines are available at all LPL locations. Copies are 10 cents per page. Do not forget to observe copyright laws when photocopying materials. Copies are available in black and white only.

Databases

The library subscribes to a number of electronic databases, most of which registered library patrons can access from home with a valid library card.

Library Cards

Microfilm and Microfiche

Microfilm containing the Louisiana census records and the Daily Advertiser can be found in the Reference department on the second floor of the Main Library. The library has a new ST200 imaging digital microfilm/fiche reader located on the second floor. Please ask at the Information Services desk for assistance.
