Services for Disabled & Homebound Patrons
Many library services for blind or disabled patrons in the state are provided free of charge through the State Library of Louisiana’s Talking Books and Braille Library. For more information on services and qualifications, please contact the State Library of Louisiana.
For the visually impaired:
All locations of the library have Large Print (Type) collections of popular adult and children’s titles in hardback and paperback.
All locations have audiobooks for adult, teens and children.
A wide range of E-books can be downloaded from our Overdrive service. Fonts can then be enlarged on a patron’s personal reading device for easy reading. E-audiobooks can also be downloaded from this same service to a patron’s device. A wide range of adult, teen and children’s titles are available through this service.
The South Regional Library and the Main Library each have a workstation with JAWS screen reader software and MAGic Screen Magnification software for patrons to use.
