Services for Disabled & Homebound Patrons

Many library services for blind or disabled patrons are provided free of charge through the State Library of Louisiana. For more information on services and qualifications, please contact the State Library of Louisiana.

Our library staff can also provide assistance with finding certain books or other collection items.

We can also bring our Library services to the following:

• Home-bound patrons
• Nursing Homes
• Senior Centers
• Institutions
• Rehabilitation Centers

Home-bound – Outreach Services staff delivers books, audiobooks, videos and DVDs every three weeks.

Senior Centers, Nursing & Retirement Homes, Institutions and Rehabilitation Centers – The library provides a once a month deposit collection of books, audiobooks, videos and DVDs.

Books-by-Mail – The library provides materials to the home-bound through the mail in a returnable postage paid mail bag.
