Homework Louisiana
One of our most used resources for kids and teens. Homework Louisiana provides 24/7 live tutoring available in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Test Prep features Princeton Review materials and practice tests, and students can create an account so they can track their progress. Homework Louisiana provides so much more than just tutoring, though!
Services include: academic tutoring with the option to submit essays and math problems for review; test preparation with SAT/ACT essentials, AP video lessons, HiSET/GED resources, practice quizzes, and standardized test prep; and job search assistance with online job search, resume and cover letter help and review, and interview preparation. This service is available within the public library, from home, or from campus.

Britannica Digital Learning
Many people may remember having a beautiful set of reference books adorned with “Britannica” in golden letters down the spines. Now, the same information from those books is just a click away! Not only can you research all topics from bacteria to world history, but you can create a digital bookshelf, save your bookmarks, and keep notes, too. Hundreds of full color and black and white nonfiction e-books bring an entire world of knowledge right into your own home!

LEAP and GEE Practice Questions
Provided by the Louisiana Department of Education.

Pronunciator
A fun and easy way to learn 163 languages at your own pace with personalized courses, movies, music, and more. Whether you’ve been wanting to learn Japanese, Spanish, or Sanskrit — Pronunciator has you covered. Once you select the language you’d like to learn and your interests, you can choose courses geared towards your age range.  Once you click the link on our website, you can create an account with your email address. From there you have the choice of following a pre-designed curriculum for your age and experience level, or you can create a custom course to fit your needs. The best part is that there’s content to fit your individual needs and learning style. Use language drills and answer quizzes, follow audio lessons, and enjoy movies and music in your chosen language. Pronunciator also offers lessons for people whose native language is not English. Parents of children in language immersion programs can even use it to keep up at home. You could create custom courses for each member of a household and practice together!

TrueFlix
Have you ever wondered why spiders aren’t considered to be insects? Did you know that leaf-cutter ants can carry more than 50 times their body weight? That monarch butterflies migrate over 3,000 miles each winter to escape the cold weather? These are just a few of the facts you’ll discover by reading one of the TruFlix books on animals. In addition to animals, TruFlix offers many other topics to explore: earth science, ecosystems, extreme nature, great discoveries, health, and outer space are just a few. The coverage on disasters, for example, delves into pandemics, oil spills, 9/11, and the Titanic. You’ll learn that smallpox, the 1st pandemic, occurred in 1492 and devastated the Native American population.
If you’re a history buff, you’ll want to read the online books on Ancient Greece, the 13 colonies, westward expansion, and many other topics in the people, places, and history section.
