Children of all ages can join the “Make a Splash: Read” summer reading program from May 17-July 23 at any library location. When you join you have a chance to read or listen to some great books and win prizes for time spent reading.  Your reading record has white patches on the inner tube for every 10 minutes you read.  If you read for 30 minutes, you may color in three white patches.  When you have read a total of 320 minutes and colored in all the patches above the fold on your reading record, you earn the Level 1 prizes.  When you have read 640 minutes and have colored all of the white patches, you reach the final level and will have earned the top prizes.  Any reader who finishes the second level will also have his or her name entered into a drawing for an iPod Shuffle.

Reminders!  1. For minutes to count toward an award, you may read or listen to books, read magazines, graphic novels or newspapers on your reading level.  2. You may record minutes read to a non reader.  3. You may not receive awards on the day you join.
