Phase III Guidelines at Libraries

The Lafayette Public Library is open to the public with Phase III guidelines.  All library locations are back to regular hours.

The library expects to accommodate all visitors within the 75% of building occupancy guidelines.

Patrons 8 and up are required to wear a face mask (per state mandate July 13) and observe social distancing guidelines. All regular programs held at the library have been cancelled for now, but many programs and storytimes are taking place online with Facebook live and Lafayette Public Library’s YouTube channel.

Library computer use is limited to 2 hours a day per person. Patrons must use their own headphones.

For individual students and small study groups, we have study rooms to accommodate their needs at all locations. Reservations for a study room at the Main and all Regional Libraries may be made online or by contacting each location directly.

Meeting rooms may be available for small groups at several locations. This need is being met on a case-by-case basis. If your group or organization would like to book these spaces, please call your local branch for more information or check meeting rooms on our website.

Some meeting rooms are currently set up for temporary use as Student Resource Centers to accommodate students and parents assisting students with online curriculum and study. These resource centers are available to any student middle school to college for a 2 hour time period.

Patrons are encouraged to continue using our online resources, download books and magazines, use drive-thru services to pick up their holds, and use phone and email services from home.

If you need help in finding something to read, placing a hold, or getting instructions on how to download a book or audio, we are here to help. Call 261-5787 or your closest location for assistance.
