Teen/Adult Grab & Go Crafts

Swing by a Lafayette Public Library drive-thru (Main Library and all Regional Libraries) and pick up a bag full of fun! Grab & Go bags will include all the supplies you’ll need plus instructions. Recommended for teens and adults.  No registration necessary; available while supplies last. 

 

Modern Woven Tapestry (beginning October 24): Make your own cardboard loom and weave together a colorful wall hanging.

Laser Cut Jack O’ Lantern (begins October 24): Take home and build a 3D Jack O’ Lantern model that can be painted and hung for display. Available only at Main Library.

“The Raven” Vintage Candle Cover (beginning October 31): make a decorative candle cover using distressed paper with an excerpt from Poe’s “The Raven”

Bleeding Tissue Paper Art (beginning November 7): Using small squares of colored tissue paper and some wax, create a small masterpiece.

Absurdism Tourism Wood Plaques II (beginning Tuesday, November 9): Make an Absurdism Tourism Bureau painted wooden plaque at home with a vinyl stencil. We provide the wood and stencil, you provide the paint! Available only at Main Library.

Link and Tie Bracelets (beginning November 14): Accessorize it in your hair or on your wrist with this trendy 2-n-1 budget-friendly DIY craft.

Fabricadabra! Advent Tree (beginning November 21): Learn how to make an Advent Tree using fabric & felt!

Yarn Lollipop Ornament (beginning November 28):  Get festive with this sweet lollipop ornament!

Mini Rustic Ornament (beginning December 5): Design your own miniature, rustic-themed holiday ornament.

Winter Wonderland Snowflakes (beginning December 12): Create your own winter wonderland with this cute and simple DIY snowflake craft.

Paper Strip Winter Art (beginning December 19): Create a festive card using strips of patterned paper and a cardstock stencil.

Layered Wood Winter Landscape (beginning Tuesday, December 21): Stack and paint layers of shaped wood blocks to form a 3D winter scene! We provide the parts and instructions for you to build at home. Available only at Main Library.

Perpetual Calendar (beginning December 26): Create a custom calendar that will last a lifetime.
