Library Online Resources Available From Home

Our library doors have officially reopened, but our online databases are still available for you 24/7. We have everything you need to support online learning, eBooks & eAudiobooks, magazines & newspapers, entertainment, and so much more. You can find the full list under Free Stuff for Our Patrons, but here are a few we’d like to put a spotlight on.

We hope that you and your family will take advantage of the following library services:

Homework Louisiana offers FREE online tutoring, test preparation, and academic resources to our patrons. Through our partnership with the State Library of Louisiana, live tutors and access to study resources are available 24/7 from home.

Learning Express Library is a comprehensive interactive learning platform of tests, courses, and career preparation for both students and adults.

LPL Mobile app – Our updated mobile app is available on your iPhone or Android device by searching “Lafayette Public Library” in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Once you’ve downloaded the app, simply log in using your library card number and PIN, and all your information will be available.

Libby, by OverDrive – is an amazing new app by OverDrive that allows you to check out eBooks and eAudiobooks from our digital catalog. Just sign in, search for the Bayouland E-Library Coop, and enter your library card information.

TumbleBookLibrary - TumbleBooks are animated, talking picture books which teach kids the joy of reading in a format they’ll love. TumbleBookLibrary takes existing picture books, adding animation, sound, music, and narration to produce an electronic picture book. You can read it, or have it read to you. (available in English, French, and Spanish) – From LinkedIn. Lynda contains hundreds of online tutorials to help you start learning a new skill today!

Lafayette Parish School System students can use their School ID as a library card number to checkout or use our online resources. Click here to learn details about the Student ID program.

Need a Library card? If you live, work, or attend school in Lafayette Parish, then you qualify for one. You can apply online at and we’ll contact you with a library card number and PIN. Please call 261-5787 if you have questions or email

Many of these applications may ask you to enter an ID or PIN. You’ll sign in with your library card number (found on the back of the card) and your PIN is the last four digits of your phone number.
